Greta Thunberg used United States President Donald Trump’s own words against him after he called to stop vote counting in the country’s ongoing election.

“So ridiculous,” the 17-year-old environmental activist told Trump on Twitter earlier today, Nov. 6, in response to his bid to “stop the count.”

“Donald must work on his [anger management] problem, then go to a good [old-fashioned] movie with a friend! Chill Donald, Chill!” she added.

Trump gave the statement to Thunberg back in December 2019 when she was named Time Magazine’s person of the year.

Trump called for a halt on vote counting last Wednesday, Nov. 4 as he prematurely declared victory over his Democratic rival Joe Biden. Biden is currently ahead in the polls as votes from battleground states are still being counted.

The incumbent U.S. president criticized the integrity of the mail-in ballots as well, which many Democrats opted for amid the COVID-19 crisis. On the other hand, fewer Republicans chose to cast their votes via mail since Trump has often denied the seriousness of the pandemic.

Thunberg’s dig at Trump also comes days after the U.S. officially left the Paris accord. Meanwhile, Biden, who Thunberg endorsed last month, has promised to rejoin the climate change pact if he wins the presidency. NVG
