Foreigners need visa to enter PH

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Wednesday asked airlines not to allow travelers bound for the Philippines to board if they do not have the appropriate visas to enter the country.

Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said several foreigners were not allowed to enter the country from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport as well as the international airports in Mactan, Cebu, and Clark, Pampanga, because they did not have visas.

Lawyer Candy Tan, BI port operations division chief, said most of the excluded foreigners were those who have Filipino spouses and children in the country but don’t have any visas at all.
