1,772 new COVID-19 cases shove PH total to 387,161
MANILA, Philippines — A total of 1,772 new COVID-19 cases brought the Philippines’ total to 387,161, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Tuesday.
Of the new total cases, 30,876 are active cases, where 82.5 percent are mild, 10 percent are asymptomatic, 4.8 percent are critical and 2.7 percent are severe.
Pampanga was identified as the top area having the most number of new cases with 154, followed by Quezon City with 115, Laguna with 83, Baguio City with 70 and Manila with 69.
The DOH also recorded 153 patients who recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total to 348,967.
Meanwhile, the country’s COVID-19 death toll shot up to 7,318 after 49 cases were recorded.
There were 11 duplicate cases, of which three were recoveries, removed from the total case count, the DOH said.
