LTFRB opens routes for provincial buses, vans
MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) opened six routes for provincial buses in Eastern Visayas and 20 routes for vans in Metro Manila, allowing more than 2,500 public utility vehicles to resume operations on Monday.
A total of 154 provincial buses were permitted to ferry passengers from Metro Manila to Eastern Visayas and back.
These include buses going to and from Ormoc City, Palompon and Tacloban City in Leyte province; Maasin City, Southern Leyte; Catarman and Laoang in Northern Samar; and Santa Rosa Integrated Terminal in Laguna province.
In Metro Manila, 2,428 UV Express vehicles were allowed to resume operations in Valenzuela, Marikina, Pasig, Taguig, Parañaque and Quezon City.
