MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 was lifted in all areas in the country on Monday as Tropical Storm “Rolly” moved west over West Philippine Sea.
Pagasa said in its latest update that while Rolly maintained its strength, it is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Tuesday morning.
While it is predicted to remain a tropical storm, Pagasa said there is an “increasing likelihood” that Rolly will weaken into a tropical depression due to “increasingly unfavorable conditions.”
As of 10 a.m. on Monday, the center of Rolly was estimated based on all available data at 195 kilometers west of Subic, Zambales.
While all warning signals are lifted, the weather bureau said occasional gusts will still be experienced over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the northern portions of Zambales.
Rough to very rough seas will prevail over the seaboards of Northern Luzon and the western seaboard of Central Luzon.
“Sea travel is risky over these waters, especially for those using small seacrafts,” Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, moderate to rough seas will be experienced over the remaining seaboards of Luzon and the eastern seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao.
Pagasa advised mariners of small seacrafts to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea.
“Inexperienced mariners should avoid navigating in these conditions,” it added.
