2 men shot dead in Cotabato town

PIKIT, COTABATO –– Two persons were killed in a shooting incident in Batulawan village here on Wednesday evening, Oct. 28.

Captain Mautin Pangandigan, Pikit police chief, identified the victims as Jomar Mustapha, 30, a resident of Fort Pikit village, and Ali Wahab, 20, a resident of Macabual village.

Pangandigan said the initial investigation showed that Mustapha and Wahab were on board a motorbike when they were fired upon by unidentified gunmen at past 6 p.m.

Residents in the area rushed the two to nearby Cruzado Medical Clinic where they were pronounced dead.

The victims suffered multiple gunshot wounds on their bodies.

Pangandigan said police investigators are still establishing the identities of the assailants and the motive of the shooting.
