GCQ for Metro Manila until Nov. 30—Duterte
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte once again extended the implementation of the general community quarantine (GCQ) in Metro Manila for another month.
In a taped speech aired Tuesday morning, Duterte said GCQ will remain in effect in the metropolis until Nov. 30.
Aside from the capital region, also under GCQ until the end of next month are the provinces of Batangas and Lanao del Sur, and the cities of Iloilo, Bacolod, Tacloban, and Iligan.
The President noted that the proposed community quarantine classifications are still subject to appeal from concerned local government units.
As of Tuesday, there are 371,630 confirmed cases of COVID-19 nationwide, including 328,258 recoveries and 7,039 deaths.
Of the total tally, nearly half or 183,375 came from Metro Manila.
