Typhoon Quinta forces suspension of classes, gov’t office work in Quezon
LUCENA CITY — Due to severe weather conditions brought by Typhoon Quinta (international name: Molave), classes in public and private schools, as well as work in government offices on Monday were ordered suspended Sunday night, provincial Public Information Office (PIO) announced.
Governor Danilo Suarez said that since the province was still under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3, all online and modular classes in all school levels are suspended.
Work in all government offices in the province is also suspended except in agencies involved with public health and safety.
Lucena City Mayor Roderick Alcala also suspended classes and work in government offices on Monday.
Classified as a highly urbanized city, Lucena is not under the provincial government.
