MANILA, Philippines — After making landfall twice over Albay, typhoon Quinta continues to linger in the vicinity of the province as of Sunday evening, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Quinta made its first landfall in San Miguel Island, Tabaco
City, Albay at 6:10 p.m. This was followed by a second landfall over Malinao, Albay at 6:50 p.m.
According to Pagasa’s 8 p.m. severe weather bulletin, Quinta was last located in the vicinity of Malinao, Albay with maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 180 kph. It is moving westward at 25 kph.
The following areas are placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3 where residents may experience winds of 21-170 kph and intermittent rains within 18 hours:

Pagasa said Quinta is expected to continue moving westward as it traverses the Southern Luzon area until Tuesday afternoon, then turns west-northwestward over the West Philippine Sea.
It is likely to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Tuesday afternoon.
Quinta will also likely to remain as typhoon category and will continue intensifying over the West Philippine Sea, the weather state bureau noted.
