MANILA, Philippines — Some local governments have opted to suspend work and classes for Monday, Oct. 26 as a precaution for bad weather brought about by Typhoon Quinta.
The suspensions apply in the following areas:
Camarines Sur: work in government offices; classes in all levels
Naga City: work in government offices; classes in all levels
Albay: work in government and private sector; classes in all levels
Oriental Mindoro: work in government and private sector; classes in all levels
Sorsogon: classes in all levels (until Tuesday, Oct. 27)
Laguna: classes in all levels
Cavite: classes in all levels
Batangas: work in government offices; classes in all levels
Quezon: work in government offices; classes in all levels
Lucena City: work in government offices; classes in all levels
Bataan: classes in all levels
Manila: classes all levels
San Juan: classes in all levels
Mandaluyong: classes in all levels
Caloocan: classes in all levels
Taguig: classes in all levels
Quinta intensified into a typhoon on Sunday afternoon hours before it made landfall in areas in Bicol region.

It made its first landfall at 6:10 p.m. over San Miguel Island, Tabaco City, Albay.
At 6:50 p.m., Quinta made its second landfall over Malinao, Albay, according to the state weather bureau.
