LEGAZPI CITY — Governor Migs Villafuerte on Saturday noon placed Camarines Sur under “red alert status” as Tropical Depression “Quinta” threatens to make landfall in the southern portion of the province Sunday night.
The provincial disaster risk reduction and management council (PDRRMC) directed local disaster councils to activate their respective 24/7 Emergency Operation Center (EOC) to ensure that appropriate and response measures are undertaken.
Villafuerte directed all local disaster councils to initiate evacuation procedures ensuring that residents living in flooding, landslide, and storm surge prone areas are in various evacuation centers by 5 p.m. Sunday.
Local disaster councils were also instructed to implement and follow the COVID-19 minimum health standards during evacuation procedure like temperature scanning and wearing of face masks and shields to prevent the possible spread of the virus inside the evacuation centers.
Those evacuees showing COVID-19-related symptoms shall be quarantined at identified COVID isolation facilities.
