MANILA, Philippines — Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Boy Locsin Jr. on Saturday defended Actress Angel Locsin, who was mentioned in Lt. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr.’s controversial statement against celebrities.
“Angel Locsin has done more with her life for others than anyone I know of in her situation. Anyone [who] messes with her will get it. I am not allowed to threaten on Twitter,” the country’s top diplomat wrote in a tweet.
Parlade drew flak from netizens and lawmakers after he made several controversial remarks about Catriona Gray and Liza Soberano over their advocacy on women’s and children’s rights in online forums by the Gabriela Women’s party-list. Parlade said critics should not “red-tag” Soberano as she is not a member of the New People’s Army (NPA).
Kapamilya Actress Angel Locsin earlier slammed Parlade over his remarks on Liza Soberano.
