9th youth parliament now open for applications

THE 9th Parliament of Youth Leaders is now accepting applications, National Youth Commission Commissioner Gio Tingson announced.

With the theme “Revolutionizing youth development,” the parliament aims to craft policy recommendations that address youth issues. These recommendations will be presented to government leaders for consideration.

Participants are expected to share ideas and gain valuable insights and networks that will aid them in youth development efforts.

Tingson, who heads the National Youth Parliament’s organizing committee, said this gathering is a venue for Filipino youth to be proactive.

The Commission is also revising the conduct of the parliament, making it more inclusive and youth-friendly.

Started in 1996, the NYP will be held on the first week of May.

Around 200 youth leaders representing different sectors and regions are expected to participate.

Application forms can be downloaded from website www.nyc.gov.ph or from the NYC office.

The deadline of application is Feb. 29.

Previous NYP delegates are not qualified to join. Other details and requirements are posted on the NYP 9 application form, the NYC website and the NYC Facebook account.
