MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Manila Council (MMC) has recommended to the national government to relax the curfew hours in the capital region, except in Navotas City, from the current 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. to 12 a.m. to 4 a.m.
MMC chairman Edwin Olivarez on Monday said that mayors of Metro Manila have agreed to shorten curfew hours during a meeting on Sunday with the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases.
“Pinagkasunduan po namin, ang rekomendyasyon po sa IATF ng MMC ay iklian po ang curfew sa Metro Manila from 12:00 to 4:00 na po siya ng umaga, na dating 10:00 p.m. to 5 in the morning,” he said in an interview on ABS-CBN’s Teleradyo.
(We agreed and recommended to the IATF that the curfew hours be adjusted to 12 midnight to 4 a.m. from the present 10p.m. to 5a.m.)
“Sa 16 na siyudad at isang bayan, kami pong 16 ay pumayag na pong maiklian ang curfew at iyon na lang pong Navotas ang maiiwanan ng 8:00 sila ng gabi,” he added.

The Navotas City curfew is from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The Department of Health reported 846 new COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila on Sunday, bringing the regional tally to 179,452 cases, including 14,233 active cases, 162,061 recoveries, and 3,158 deaths.
Nationwide, the total number of COVID-19 cases as of Sunday afternoon is 356,618 (39,808 active cases, 310,158 recoveries, and 6,652 deaths).
