A woman in Texas, United States, has been accused of illegally conducting a silicone butt injection on another woman, a procedure that caused her death several days after.
Pamela Burnley, 55, was arrested on a murder charge last week for the death of 35-year-old Latora King on May 17, as per NBC-owned KXAS-TV on Oct. 9.
Six days prior to her death, King went to Burnley’s house in Dallas to get the injection, police investigations found. Detectives found evidence of the procedure being conducted through Burnely’s subpoenaed phone and Facebook chat records.
Detectives said in the suspect’s arrest warrant that Burnley, who also went by the name Jag Booty, apparently charged the victim $1,000 (over P48,000) for the procedure, according to the report.
Also found in the conversations between Burnley and King were five photos of King’s “grotesquely misshapen buttocks” covered in gauze, which she sent to Burnley several days after the injection.
The following day, King went to the Fort Worth hospital, where she ultimately died, the report said.
On May 27, 10 days after King’s death, police found a receipt for a 5-gallon purchase of silicone oil in Burnely’s house, as per ABC affiliate WFAA on Oct. 9. Police were unable to find oil itself.
Burnely, however, denied performing illegal injections, claiming that King went over to her home to “buy purses” and that the oil was used for hair treatments.
Based on the evidence found, detectives believe that Burnley has been performing illegal butt injections way before King’s case.
An agent from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in June tested the substance that was injected into King’s butt, according to the report.. Results eventually showed that the victim was indeed injected with silicone. Ian Biong/JB
