Youth exec is new DOLE assistant secretary

TACLOBAN CITY –– A commissioner of the National Youth Commission (NYC) was appointed as assistant secretary of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Victor Del Rosario, a native of Naval in Biliran province, took his oath before Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III on Thursday, Oct.8, at the DOLE central office in Intramuros, Manila.

In his Facebook post, the newly named DOLE official expressed his “utmost gratitude” to President Duterte and Sen. Christopher ‘Bong’ Go for their trust and confidence.

While he is now with DOLE, Del Rosario said he would continue to carry his “love for the Filipino youth.”

He also vowed to advance and protect the general interest and welfare of the Filipino workers, especially during this time of the coronavirus disease.

Del Rosario was named NYC commissioner last August 2018 and at the same time, a member to the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board Appeals Committee.

Del Rosario is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and a Master’s Degree holder in Development Management and Governance. He is taking his Executive Doctorate in Leadership at the University of Makati.
