FORT DEL PILAR, BAGUIO CITY—The Air Force officer, who killed a colleague and wounded another before shooting himself inside the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) here, died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC).

Airman Second Class Christopher Lim had been showing “disturbing behavior” days before he ransacked on Tuesday the lockers in their barracks to get an automatic rifle to shoot the victims, according to a police report.

Killed was Air Force Staff Sgt. Joefrey Turqueza and wounded was Army Staff Sgt. Vivencio Raton. Lim was reported shot during the melee, but the PMA said his wound might have been self-inflicted. Raton remained confined at BGHMC.

Investigators said the shooting was triggered by “a misunderstanding and an argument” among the enlisted soldiers, based on an alert from the PMA.
