An 11-year-old girl was able to reunite a lost wedding ring with its owner after she found it in the sands of the Isle of Wight in England, UK.
Matt Easley lost his gold wedding ring in the waters of Ventnor Beach on Aug. 6, as per BBC on Sept. 28. He said he lost it while “splashing about” and asked a cafe owner to keep an eye out for it in case it washed up.
Fortunately, Priya Sahu found the precious jewelry indeed washed up in the sand just a day after. Priya’s mother then helped her daughter look for its owner, noting that Priya said “it would be magical” if they could.
After contacting several persons, the mother-daughter duo got in touch with the cafe owner, who then helped them contact Eastley, according to the report.
Eastley, who compared the wedding ring to Cinderella’s glass slipper, finally met with Priya and her mother just last Sunday, Sept. 27. He has been married to his wife, Lisa, for 15 years now, the report said.
“It’s been a bit of a grim 2020 but [the find has] certainly put a smile on my face,” Eastley was quoted as saying. Ian Biong /ra
