Manila LGU completes distribution of 11,000 laptops for public school teachers
MANILA, Philippines — The local government of Manila has already completed its distribution of 11,000 laptops with pocket WiFi to public school teachers in the city, as part of the preparations for the resumption of classes in public school on October 5.
Information from the Manila Public Information Office released Thursday also showed that 100,398 tablets for public school students were likewise distributed.
This was part of the 136,950 tablets the city government plans to provide to students to be used for the blended learning system once classes resume, in view of the suspension of face-to-face classes due to the coronavirus disease pandemic.
A total of P1.234 billion from the Special Education Fund was allocated for the procurement of the laptops and tablets.
