15 AFP senior officers get CA nod

Commission on Appointments (CA) confirms the ad interim appointments and nomination of 15 senior officers of the Armed of the Philippines on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. Screengrab from CA Youtube live

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Appointments (CA) confirmed on Wednesday the ad interim appointments and nomination of 15 senior officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Before the CA’s session, its Committee on National Defense, in a hearing, deliberated on and recommended the approval of the ad interim appointments and nomination of the senior military officials.

The CA confirmed the ad interim appointments of Brig. Gen. Sharon Gernale, deputy commander for operations of the Western Command, and Brig. General Milton Beset, Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications, Electronics and Information Systems, Communications Electronics and Information Systems Service of the AFP.

The CA also confirmed the nomination of Maj. Gen. Laurence Mina, 502nd Infantry Brigade commanding officer.

The following ad interim appointments were also approved by the CA:

Ignatius Patrimonio to the rank of Brigadier General

Rene Diaz to the rank of Major General

Nichols Driz to the rank of Rear Admiral

Belinda Ganotice to the rank of Colonel, Philippine Army
