Online journalist shot dead in Sorsogon City
LEGAZPI CITY, Albay, Philippines — An online journalist was shot dead in Sorsogon City on Monday night.
Jobert Bercasio, an online news and commentary program handler, was driving his motorcycle along Seabreeze Homes Subdivision in Barangay Cabid-an of the capital city of Sorsogon province at around 7:55 p.m.when two motorcycle-riding gunmen shot him with an unknown caliber of firearm, said Lt. Col. Benito Dipad Jr., chief of Sorsogon City Police Station.
Bercasio was handling a morning news and commentary program on Balangibog Internet TV, aired through Facebook.
He was a former reporter of a radio station in Legazpi City.
Dipad said investigators had not yet determined the motive of the killing.
