Driver dead in Lucena road mishap

LUCENA CITY – A 55-year-old driver of a sports utility vehicle (SUV) died after a truck bumped his vehicle in a road accident here Saturday.

Lucena police identified the victim as Julito Delos Reyes, employee of Armed Forces and Police Savings and Loans Association, Inc. in its Manila office.

Report said the victim who was driving his Mitsubishi Pajero was bumped by a ten-wheeler truck being driven by Ronald Marquez along the diversion road in Barangay (village) Ibabang Dupay around 11 a.m.

The victim sustained grave injuries and was rushed by rescuers to Mount Carmel Diocesan General Hospital in the city proper but died along the way.

The victim’s vehicle was reportedly out of its lane when the truck hit its right side.
