COVID-19 quarantine facility security guard shot, killed

KABACAN, COTABATO—A security guard assigned to a COVID-19 isolation facility in the University of Southern Mindanao compound here was shot and killed by an unidentified gunman at the village of Aringay on Monday (Sept. 7).

Eddie Katigan, a Moro resident of the village of Buluan, Kabacan town, was on the way home on his motorcycle when he was shot in the head, according to Habib Guiabar, caretaker of seven villages in Kabacan that joined the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Guiabar said Katigan died in a hospital.
