Boratong drug group member nabbed in Pasig
MANILA, Philippines — A member of the Boratong drug syndicate was arrested in Pasig City on Saturday. Antidrug operatives arrested 61-year-old Cenon Intalan, alias “Antonette,” in a buy-bust on MRR (Manila Railroad) Road in Barangay Pineda around 12:30 p.m.
A report by the Eastern Police District said Intalan was nabbed after selling a sachet of crystal meth “shabu” worth P100 to an undercover police officer. He is now detained at the Pasig police headquarters.
Police said Intalan, the No. 9 most wanted in the National Capital Region, was a supplier among members of the Boratong Drug Group led by Amin Imam Boratong, a convicted drug lord who operated the “shabu tiangge” at the Mapayapa compound, a stone’s throw away from the Pasig City Hall, until his arrest in 2006.
Boratong died on June 5 after being infected with the new coronavirus disease at New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa.
