Body of unidentified woman found in Davao del Sur town beach
DIGOS CITY – Police are still trying to identify a woman whose body was found floating along the rocky shoreline of Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur on Saturday afternoon.
Major Crisaldo Gaila, Sta. Cruz police chief, said residents of the town’s Barangay Coronon found the body along the coastline of Coronon Bay at 4:10 pm on September 5. The woman, estimated to be between 30 to 40 years old, wore a purple T-shirt and denim pants.
She had a wound in the head when she was found along the shoreline of Purok Rosas, Barangay Coronon.
A fisherman told the police he recalled seeing the woman walking along the rocky portion of the beach while he and his friends were eating nearby. When the woman vanished from their sight, he went out to take a look and saw the woman floating on the rocky shoreline.
Efforts to save her life of the woman proved futile as she was no longer breathing, the police said in the report.
The body of the still unidentified woman had been brought to the town’s Esperanza Funeral Parlor in Barangay Zone-2 as the police waited for the claimants.
