MANILA, Philippines — Fair weather with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rain showers will prevail nationwide as Typhoon Haishen is expected to graze the northeastern edge of the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) Friday morning, according to the state weather bureau.

“Haishen” was last spotted 1,440 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon outside PAR, based on the 4 a.m. weather forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

(We expect that it may enter PAR this morning. Once it enters PAR, it will be given the local name Kristine.)

The typhoon is not expected to significantly affect the weather condition in the country, he added.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon is currently affecting the weather condition in extreme northern Luzon.

(The southwest monsoon continues to affect the weather in the extreme northern Luzon. Within 24 hours, we will have fair weather. There will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers.)
