DICT rolls out free Wi-Fi in Zambales schools, hospitals
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) rolled out free Wi-Fi access points in hospitals and schools in Zambales, providing connectivity boost in the province amid the pandemic.
In a statement on Thursday, the DICT said the sites included facilities such as President Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital, Masinloc Isolation Facility, Candelaria District Hospital and San Marcelino District Hospital.
Kolehiyo ng Subic was also given four new access points.
The DICT described the project as timely, with internet demand increasing during the health crisis as a result of work from home and remote learning. As of Aug. 19, the DICT had established 4,758 access points nationwide and 12 operational sites in Zambales. — (Miguel R. Camus)
