AFP chief Gapay, 29 other senior officers get CA nod

MANILA, Philippines — The powerful Commission of Appointments (CA) on Wednesday confirmed the nomination of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief of the staff Lt. Gen. Gilbert Gapay and the ad interim appointments of 29 other military officers.

Before the CA’s plenary session, the body’s Committee on National Defense deliberated on and recommended the approval of Gapay’s nomination as well as the ad interim appointments of 29 other senior AFP officers.

  • Gilbert Saret to the rank of Major General
  • Alfredo Rosario Jr. to the rank of Major General
  • Jaime Datuin to the rank of Colonel, Philippine Army
  • Hilario de Vera to the rank of Colonel, Philippine Navy-Marines
  • John de Villa to the rank of Captain, Philippine Navy
  • Stephen Tabulla to the rank of Captain, Philippine Navy
  • Jose Rene Nartates to the rank of Captain, Philippine Navy
  • Filomeno Carreon to the rank of Colonel, Philippine Navy-Marines
  • Emerson delos Santo to the rank of Colonel, Philippine Navy-Marines
