Italian national loses jewelry in robbery—police

MANILA, Philippines—An Italian national allegedly lost several pieces of jewelry after her house in Parañaque City was burglarized Sunday night.

Anna Maria Salvini, an employee of the Italian Embassy in Manila and resident of Merville Park Subdivision, told police the robbery was discovered by her stay-in caretaker, Thai national Sophia Samili, at around 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Initial investigation showed the assailant broke into Salvini’s house through the window of the guest room on the second floor and then proceeded to a bedroom where the pieces of jewelry were kept.

Police were still conducting further investigation to determine the amount of jewelry stolen and identify a suspect.
