/ 05:00 AM August 28, 2020

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (Owwa) has allocated P400 million in educational assistance for the children of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) repatriated because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said Project EASE (Educational Assistance through Scholarship in Emergencies) will grant P10,000 per year for a maximum of four years to qualified dependents.

To avail of the educational aid, OFWs must have had active Owwa status at the time of their repatriation since the declaration of the outbreak on Feb 1.

Interested Owwa-member OFWs may apply online through https://ease.owwa.gov.ph or contact Owwa Regional Offices for more details. —TINA SANTOS
