Bohol has 23 new COVID-19 cases

TAGBILARAN CITY –– The province of Bohol on Tuesday recorded 23 fresh cases of new coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the highest single-day tally since the pandemic started.

Bohol Gov. Arthur Yap, in a post on Facebook, said the new patients came from the towns of Talibon, Bien Unido, and Buenavista.

At least 304 swab samples were taken from the close contacts of the patients and were sent to the molecular laboratory of the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital for processing.

The islands of Malingin and Guindacpan, meanwhile, remained under lockdown due to a surge in cases.

Relief goods were sent to the residents by their respective local governments.

At least 559 households on Guindacpan Island received relief goods from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Central Visayas.

Gallons filled with five-liter mineral water were given to residents on Guindacpan and Malingin Islands by Rep. Erico Aristotle Aumentado of Bohol’s second district.

Bohol has 167 cases of COVID-19. It has 53 active cases with 107 recoveries and seven deaths.
