500 San Juan residents undergo swab tests

/ 05:10 AM August 20, 2020

MANILA, Philippines — The San Juan government on Wednesday tested around 500 front-liners and close contacts of confirmed virus patients at its “mega” swab testing facility at the city gymnasium.

Mayor Francis Zamora said the facility could do 500 to 700 tests daily. Although free of charge, residents need to schedule testing with the city health office as no walk-ins are allowed.

As of Wednesday, the city has done at least 18,000 swab tests and is targeting intense contact tracing at a ratio of 37 close contacts for every confirmed case.
