Bohol island village has 3 more COVID-19 patients

TAGBILARAN CITY –– The island-barangay of Malingin in Bien Unido town, Bohol has recorded three more cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Tuesday.

Bohol Gov. Arthur Yap, in a post on Facebook, said the three patients were among 81 residents swabbed last Saturday.

The infection was a result of local transmission.

The island now has the highest number of coronavirus infections in the province at 17 and one death.

The majority of the patients were asymptomatic and were self-isolating at home.

Malingin, which has1,106 residents, has been on lockdown due to cases of the COVID-19.

The municipal government and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Central Visayas distributed food packs to the residents.

At least 350 gallons of mineral water were also given by Rep. Erico Aristotle Aumentado of Bohol’s second district.

Bohol now has 130 cases of COVID-19 with 25 active, 99 recoveries, and six deaths.
