Roque goes on self – quarantine after Año tests positive for COVID anew
MANILA, Philippines — Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque is under self-quarantine after Interior Secretary Eduardo Año announced over the weekend that he tested positive again for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
During his regular press briefing Monday, Roque said he, along with other Cabinet members, opted to go on quarantine after interacting with Año and possibly getting exposed to the virus.
“Ako po ay nagbo-broadcast mula sa aking tahanan ngayon dahil alam niyo naman po na si Secretary Año ay nag-positive at minabuti na po naming mag-self quarantine ngayon,” Roque said.
“Ito naman po ay limang araw tapos kami po ay magpapa-PCR test para naman makabalik na sa trabaho,” he added.
The Palace official, however, did not name other members of the Cabinet who are likewise on self-quarantine.
In a statement on Sunday, Año announced he got tested for the novel coronavirus last August 14 and received a positive result the following day.
Article continues after this advertisementAño first tested positive for COVID-19 last March 31. He eventually recovered and got a negative PCR result on April 13.
