Tricycle driver who tried to augment income selling meth arrested

PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines — A tricycle driver in Molave town of Zamboanga del Sur who was trying to augment his income by selling crystal meth, locally known as shabu, was arrested by authorities in a buy-bust operation on Friday, Aug. 14.

Lt. Col. Rhode Espero, Zamboanga del Sur provincial police director, said Millgie Mission, 25, sold meth to an undercover agent in Madasigon village of Molave town.

Seized from the suspect were heat-sealed plastic sachets containing substance believed to be shabu, estimated to fetch some P35,000 when sold on retail.

According to authorities, a kilogram of shabu sold on retail will fetch some P6.8 million.

Espero said Mission has been under surveillance by authorities since January this year.

Mission is now detained at the Molave police custodial facility.
