CEBU Tenpin Bowling Association’s 17-year-old junior bowler Aui Padawan outplayed RP team members yesterday’s en route to the singles crown of the National Bowling Tour which part of the ongoing 13th Bowlingplex Tenpin Association (BTA) Sinulog Cup at the Gaisano Bowlingplex in Banilad.
Padawan won an all-Cebu finals after besting veteran lady bowler Salve Tesio, 432-362 in their two-game finals.
Tesio also from CETBA, finished second while Luke Bolongan grabbed third place honors after routing Thomas Convoy, 466-391.
Earlier, Padawan stunned RP team member Benshir Layoso in the quarterfinals, 222-197 due mainly to his higher handicap points which is the common headache for top bowlers competing against lower-ranked foes.
Other rated players like RP team member Liza Clutario lost to Rommel Lazo in the opening round, 208-187.
Meanwhile, 55-Above 2 of BTA took the Team lead after four rounds of the Sinulog Open with 2,492 pinfalls. The team is composed of Dory Enoveso, Boy Gacho and Bing Barile.
D’ Dream of Alex Lagcao, Omar Marsangca and Ruel Zuniga grabbed the second spot with 2,469 pinfalls followed by Alberto’s Pizza in the third with 2,464 pinfalls.
MTBA of Clutario, Lingling de Guzman and Layoso is in fifth place with 2,453 pinfalls while Prima 6 lies in sixth spot with 2,433.
