Quirino gov, family quarantined after househelp tests positive for COVID-19

CABARROGUIS, Quirino –– Gov. Dakila Carlo Cua and his family were forced to go into quarantine after disclosing that Quirino province’s first-ever patient of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is their househelp.

Cua and his household members were swabbed for COVID-19 on Wednesday while staying inside their residence in Barangay Mangandingay village in this town.

According to Cua, they were surprised to learn that their 24-year-old househelp tested positive for the virus despite having no travel history and was also staying inside their compound most of the time.

The infection has prompted the Cuas to put their home on lockdown for 14 days, heeding the advice of the inter-agency task force.

“We do not know where the virus came from so we should always be alert. Do not panic,” Cua said. INQ
