1-year-old baby among La Union’s 31 new COVID-19 cases

SAN FERNANDO CITY –– Thirty-one new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were recorded in seven towns of La Union on Tuesday, Gov. Francisco Emmanuel Ortega said.

The new cases brought to 181 the total number of confirmed cases in the province, 109 of whom are active.

The new patients include a 1-year-old baby from Burgos town and a 66-year-old man from Naguillan town.

Most of the new cases are from Burgos, where 11 residents were reported to have been exposed to another COVID-19 patient. Ten of them are from Bilis village, while one is from Caoayan village.

Two of the patients exhibited COVID-19 symptoms and were admitted to the La Union Medical Center. The nine others are on home quarantine but will be transferred for isolation and monitoring.

In this city, three cases were again reported in San Agustin village, where most of the patients in the city came from.

La Union has recorded eight deaths related to COVID-19.
