San Juan honor students to get cash gifts

MANILA, Philippines — Honor students from public elementary schools in San Juan City will receive cash incentives ranging from P2,000 to P10,000 in recognition of their hard work and perseverance.

Mayor Francis Zamora, who recently signed an ordinance awarding the cash gifts to outstanding students in Grades 6, 10 and 12, said these would also motivate them for the start of classes on Aug. 24.

Under Ordinance No. 45, series of 2019, public elementary school students in Grade 12 who finish first in their batch or get a grade average of between 98 to 100 percent will get P10,000 each while those who achieve the same feat in Grades 6 and 10 will each receive P5,000.

Students in Grades 6 and 10 who finish with high honors or with a grade average of 95 to 97 percent shall receive P7,000 each. For Grade 12 students who graduate with honors with an average grade of 90 to 94 percent, the city will each give them P5,000 while those in Grades 6 and 10 will receive P2,000 each.
