2 dead, 2 hurt in Calbayog City robbery

ORMOC CITY –– Two persons were killed while two others were wounded when 12 unidentified men robbed a local store in Barangay Obo-ob, Calbayog City at 5:50 a.m. on Sunday, August 9.

Jeffrey Floralde, 33, the store owner, and Bernadetha Capistrano, 46, a customer, succumbed to bullet wounds on their bodies.

Floralde’s 11-year-old daughter Ashley, and 33-year-old fish vendor Jomar Dumapit, were wounded.

Police Lt. Col Sam Andarino, chief of the Calbayog Police Station, said the suspects suddenly barged inside the store, declared a hold-up, and shot the victims several times.

The suspects took the store’s proceeds amounting to P40,000.

Authorities have yet to identify the suspects.
