MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area spotted west of Pangasinan is now a tropical depression, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Sunday night.
According to Pagasa, the tropical depression, named Ferdie, developed ay around 8:00 p.m. of Sunday.
Ferdie’s development came as Tropical Storm Jangmi left the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Sunday afternoon.
The storm is the sixth to enter PAR this year. It is expected to intensify the southwest monsoon or habagat, which would bring cloudy skies and rains to the western portion of Luzon and Visayas.
