Dauis, Bohol records first COVID-19 case
TAGBILARAN CITY- The municipality of Dauis in Bohol registered its first coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) case.
Dauis Mayor Marietta Tocmo-Sumaylo, in a social media post, said the patient is a resident of Barangay Totolan, has been confined at the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran City.
Dauis is one of the two municipalities on Panglao Island and is known for its beaches and centuries-old church.
Bohol Gov. Arthur Yap on Sunday also announced that another locally stranded individual from Tubigon town contracted the virus.
The patient, he said, was immediately isolated at the municipal quarantine facility.
Bohol has so far tallied 106 COVID-19 cases with five deaths and 74 recoveries.
