Manila opens 13th isolation facility

The Manila city government opened on Friday its 13th isolation facility that will cater to asymptomatic new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patients.

The quarantine facility at Manuel L. Quezon University (MLQU) in Quiapo occupies two floors and has a 60-bed capacity. With the addition of the new unit, the city government’s total number of isolation beds has increased to 600.

A total of 5,179 COVID-19 cases were logged in Manila as of Friday. The city recorded 3,690 recoveries, leaving 1,253 active cases. —Nikka G. Valenzuela
