Duterte extends CHED commissioner Adamat’s term until 2024
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has reappointed Ronald Adamat as Commission on High Education (CHED) Commissioner, extending his term until July 2024.
“President Rodrigo R. Duterte has recently reappointed Dr. Ronald L. Adamat as Commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for another term expiring on July 21, 2024,” CHED chairperson Prospero De Vera III said in a statement Wednesday.
Adamat, who previously served as Sectoral Representative for Cultural Communities in Congress, was first appointed as CHED commissioner in 2016.
He was also commissioner of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples from 2010 to 2011.
De Vera said Adamat’s experience in governance and ties with the Indigenous Peoples “could help ensure that higher education is inclusive to all Filipino learners regardless of creed, color, or culture.”
Further, De Vera said he expects Adamat to continue his advocacies that include federalism, Indigenous Peoples studies, peace and development, agriculture, maritime education, and good governance.
