Immigration bureau scales down operations

/ 04:35 AM August 05, 2020

MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is scaling down its operations and suspending its online appointment system at the agency’s main office in Intramuros, Manila, due to the reimposition of the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) in Metro Manila.

Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente explained that suspending the online scheme was necessary because the BI will revert to a skeleton workforce at its main office while MECQ is in effect.
