Tropical Depression Dindo slightly intensifies, no direct impact on PH
MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression Dindo has slightly intensified but will have no direct impact on the country, the nation’s weather bureau said on Saturday.
In its 11 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the weather disturbance is packing maximum winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) to 55 kph and gustiness of 55 kph to 70 kph.
Pagasa said it expects Dindo to turn into a tropical storm by August 3, Monday morning.
As of 10 a.m., Tropical Depression Dino, which is moving north-northwestward, was last spotted at 800 kilometers (kms) east northeast of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan or 715 kms east of Basco, Batanes.
Meanwhile, Pagasa said occasional rain will be experienced this Saturday over Luzon, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao due to the southwest monsoon.
