The footage, which was presented by Mandaluyong police at the National Capital Region Police Office press conference in Quezon City, showed a white vehicle believed to be carrying Barayuga shot about four times by a lone gunman riding a motorcycle.
In an initial report, police said Barayuga, a lawyer and a retired general, was on his way home from his office when he was shot at corner of Calbayog and Malinaw Streets in Barangay Highway Hills, while traffic was at a standstill.
The gunman immediately fled from the crime scene aboard his motorcycle.
Mandaluyong police chief Col. Hector Grijaldo Jr. said over Teleradyo that aside from the motorcycle-riding gunman, there was another motorcycle which the police believe to being among the suspects.
The light brown vehicle that can be seen on the video in front of Barayuga’s pickup, according to Grijaldo, was also being boarded by some of the suspects. He said this car allegedly slowed down Barayuga’s pick-up during the shooting incident.
“Batay po sa CCTV po natin may dalawa pong motor na ginamit at magkaiba po yung sakay at meron po yung isang kotseng light brown na siya po yung nag slow down o humarang doon sa sasakyan ng biktima at ito po ay walang plate number na pagkakilanlan tapos ito po yung nabangga nung pickup na sinasakyan ni Mr. Barayuga,” Grijaldo said when asked about the killing of Barayuga.
(Based on our CCTV there are two motorcycles used and a light brown car slowed down and blocked the victim’s vehicle, which has no plate number. It also hit Barayuga’s car.)
