CABANATUAN CITY –– The city logged its first death from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) after an infected 90-year-old woman died on Thursday.
The woman, a resident of Barangay Daan Sarile, was also the eldest of the nine latest COVID-19 cases recorded in the city, according to the City Information and Tourism Office.
The other new COVID-19 patients here include a 69-year-old woman from Barangay Caridad, who had a cough and sore throat, an asymptomatic 44-year-old woman from Bantug Norte and a 59-year-old resident of Barangay Aduas Sur, who also was asymptomatic and got no history of travel.
Also among the fresh COVID-19 cases were an 18-year-old asymptomatic man from Barangay Aduas Sur, a 22-year-old government employee who had a severe cough from Aduas Norte, and a 24-year-old female bank employee from Barangay Buliran.
Two vendors, aged 31 and 35, at the Sangitan Public Market also contracted the virus. The city has recorded 81 COVID-19 cases to date.
