MANILA, Philippines — The Navotas Fish Port Complex, including its Market Halls, will be shut down over the weekend for disinfection in a bid to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
In an advisory from the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) dated July 28, the fish port will be shut down from August 1, Saturday at 1 p.m. to August 2, Sunday at 1 p.m.
“Ang nasabing aktibidad ay mahalagang hakbang sa pagpapatupad ng safety preventive measures sa Navotas Fish Port Complex upang makasigurong ligtas at maiwasan ang pagkalat ng COVID-19 sa fish port at mapangalaan ang kapakanan ng lahat ng pumaspasok dito,” read the statement.
(The said activity is an important step to implement safety measures at the fish port to ensure the prevention of COVID-19 at the fish port and make sure that customers are safe from the disease.)
The PFDA urged the public to volunteer in the disinfection drive.
