Weekend shutdown, disinfection for Navotas Fish Port Complex

MANILA, Philippines — The Navotas Fish Port Complex, including its Market Halls, will be shut down over the weekend for disinfection in a bid to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In an advisory from the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) dated July 28, the fish port will be shut down from August 1, Saturday at 1 p.m. to  August 2, Sunday at 1 p.m.

“Ang nasabing aktibidad ay mahalagang hakbang sa pagpapatupad ng safety preventive measures sa Navotas Fish Port Complex upang makasigurong ligtas at maiwasan ang pagkalat ng COVID-19 sa fish port at mapangalaan ang kapakanan ng lahat ng pumaspasok dito,” read the statement.

The PFDA urged the public to volunteer in the disinfection drive.
